MS. G'S EDUCATION PLAN 2010.
here's what i think the education system shud be like:
PRIMARY SCHOOL
YEARS OF STUDYING: 5
FROM THE AGE OF 3 TO 7
Kids should go to school once they reach the age of 3 because their absorption power is at their peak.
First, they should be thought some Basic Maths(consiting of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) for a year and then progress it to intermediate level (simple algebra and etc.) the next year. You would be surprised at how well they would excel.
Next is languages. ENGLISH IS COMPULSORY!!! and so is TAMIL AND MANDARIN. these 3 languages are compulsory no matter what your race is. Additional language subjects which are optional but encouraged to take would be French, Japanese and Spanish.
Then, history. History is actually very interesting when it is taught properly, through the usage of videos and graphics. History is important as though who forget the past are condemned to repeat it quoted frm george santayana (i think)
Geography is essential as well. It's a subject that indirectly teaches kids to be environmentally friendly. As u not only learn the various types of plants but the various landscapes that the earth has. It teaches us to love the earth and preserve it as best as possible.
Next up, would be a Basic Science subject. It would be the sort of stuff we learned in primary school with a lil bit of secondary school syllabus. Get them started young. =)
Ok enough of studying now for some play. XD
Each student will have to learn an instrument, a sport as well as either singing or dancing. This is for the stimulation of the left brain. So they can grow up to be balance individuals. =)
SECONDARY SCHOOL
YEARS OF STUDYING : 5
FROM THE AGE OF 8 TO 12
In secondary school, it would be the same subjects except harder.
The basic science subject will be split into Biology, Chemistry and Physcis.
Other subjects will be introduced as well, like Economics, Statistics and etc.
Students can choose the subjects they want based on what they are interested in.
Arts and Crafts will be taught as well for the students to express themselves creatively.
Here's probably where there would be some career talks so that students would have an idea of what they would like to do with their future and so they can focus on it early on.
TERTIARY SCHOOL
YEARS OF STUDYING : 4
FROM AGES 13 TO 16
Tertiary level is where students will have to decide on which language subjects they would like to concentrate fully on. English, Mandarin and Tamil are still compulsory.
In this level subjects will be divided into Science subjects,Arts subjects and IT subjects
The science subjects would consist of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, Dietics and Nutrition, Medicine and etc.
Arts on the other hand would be like Banking, Accounting, Finance, Human Resource, Public Relations, Sport Science, Phscyhology and etc.
IT would be like Computer Programming, Web Designing, Internet Technology and etc.
Its like college but its not. Its diploma level but taught in school. So when the kids graduate from school they are quite well rounded. They can then immediately pursue their degree or if their grades were excellent perhaps masters.
so here's actually whta my ide of education is. there's some adjustment to be made here and there. will one day sit and think abt it properly. unfortunately, this is only possible on paper. i hope one day it can come true. maybe i should be a politician. hmmm.........................*should consider it
